Ways to take Iaseb

Two Ways to take IASEB (internal &External)

IASEB offers flexible testing options to meet students at different stages of their academic journey. Candidates can take the IASEB internally or externally, depending on their educational status and progression plans.

Furthermore, after the test, successful students, who also passed at least five
subjects relevant to the tertiary institution’s chosen course of study, from their
WAEC/NECO administered examination, shall automatically qualify to directly go
into any university or place of higher study of their choice. In any case where
students fail to pass the IASE internal examination, but still desires to study in the
tertiary institutions such student shall then be registered for the next IASE
examination in the ensuing months of the test without losing out a full year of
wastefulness, anguish and frustration.

Internal Exam

The Internal IASEB is designed for students who are still in secondary school and have not yet written WAEC or equivalent examinations. This option allows students to assess their academic readiness early and prepare confidently for future higher education.

Internal IASEB helps students to:

  • Measure academic preparedness before final secondary examinations

  • Build confidence through early exposure to admission-style assessments

  • Identify strengths and areas for improvement

  • Prepare psychologically and academically for university-level study

External IASEB (For Post-Secondary Candidates)

The External IASEB is intended for students who have already completed WAEC or equivalent examinations and require an additional academic screening assessment to advance to higher education.

External IASEB helps students to:

  • Demonstrate readiness for higher education

  • Support admission into universities locally and internationally

  • Strengthen academic profiles for placement or progression

  • Provide institutions with credible evidence of academic capability
