Marking Scheme

The IASEB marking scheme is designed to ensure fairness, transparency, and accuracy in the assessment of candidates. Each examination is graded using standardized criteria that objectively measure academic knowledge, reasoning ability, and readiness for higher education. Scores are awarded based on clearly defined benchmarks, ensuring that every candidate is evaluated consistently and equitably.

Marking Schemes

(a) General Test The General Test consists of 100 multiple-choice questions, each with four options (A–D). Each question carries 1 mark Total score: 100 marks (b) Test on Written English This section evaluates students’ written communication skills based on the following criteria: Logical reasoning: 20% Syntax: 20% Mechanical accuracy (grammar, spelling, punctuation): 20% Good address/title: 10% Neatness: 10% Required number of words: 10% Effective conclusion: 10% Total: 100% (c) Common Knowledge Test The Common Knowledge Test comprises 100 multiple-choice questions. Each question carries 1 mark Total score: 100 marks (d) Test on Spoken English The Spoken English Test consists of 10 oral questions. Marks are awarded or deducted for each question Total score: 100 marks

Test Dates

The examination dates for International Admission Screening Examination (External) is in last Saturday of the months of January July October December every year. The examination dates for Internal is in last Saturday of March June August November yearly.
